Dr. William Morse — Music Director and Conductor
Maestro William Morse has been Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra since 1999. The orchestra continues to develop and flourish under his leadership.
Dr. Morse holds bachelor and master degrees in music from Oberlin Conservatory and a doctorate in orchestral conducting from the University of Arizona. He has also studied at the Mozarteum Academy of Music in Salzburg, Austria. He is Professor Emeritus at Metropolitan State College in Denver where he conducted the Metropolitan State Symphony Orchestra and taught Advanced Conducting and Music Theory.
A man of diverse musical talents, Dr. Morse is fond of the literature for symphony and chamber orchestra. His dynamic conducting style, innovative musical taste, and outstanding musicianship have made him very popular with Colorado audiences.
Giga Romero — Concertmaster
Giga Romero has been performing on violin for 30 years. She has played with several national acts during their tour stops in Denver: Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael Buble, Richard Marx, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Antonio Marco Solis, Andrea Bocelli (Denver Pepsi Center and Anaheim Honda Events Center), Sarah Brightman (the original "Christine" in the Broadway production of "Phantom of The Opera"), Smokey Robinson, Anne Murray, and Flash Cadillac (the 50's band of "American Graffiti" fame).
Giga performed with the Arapahoe Philharmonic for 20 years and served as assistant principal for 16 of those years. She currently serves as Principal Second violin in the Musica Sacra Chamber Orchestra. She has also performed with the Colorado Springs Symphony, Colorado Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra of the West (formerly Denver Chamber Orchestra), and has been featured soloist with the Colorado Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Metropolitan State College Symphony and the Arapahoe Philharmonic.
J. Stephen Mallinson — Associate Conductor
Stephen Mallinson is active as a musician and conductor / director in Metro Denver. He has completed Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music, and additional graduate studies have developed his conducting and directing skills. He is currently the Director of Music at Wheat Ridge United Methodist Church. Prior to his retirement, he was a Music and Orchestra teacher for Adams County School District I in primary and secondary education. As a tubaist, he has soloed with the Jefferson Symphony and the Arapahoe Philharmonic. In addition. he is a member of the Jefferson Symphony Brass Quintet ensemble.
